Welcome

Pardon the appearance, this site is still very much under construction.

Please feel free to browse a short autobiography, including my resume (in Word, PDF, and OpenDocument format), a quick look at my life in and out of school, and some information about why I'm so passionate about computer science and the field of information technology.

Then I hope you'll glance at some of my personal achievements and coding samples over the past four years at the University of Pittsburgh. Here are links to some select projects that present specific slices of my knowledge as a software engineer-in-training. Also there, are some samples of projects created outside of school on my own time. These independent projects are typically musings of what should be done but hasn't yet. Most are open source and still very much in development, but I'll let the code do the talking.

Lastly, I'll let you peak into my social life. Spending 4 years in Oakland will expose even the most cloistered people to many situations outside their norm, and while working hard at school and furthering my career may be #1, I do have a personal life which I enjoy very thoroughly.

The Short Version

Let's start with the end, with how things turned out: my resume in Word, PDF, and OpenDocument.

The Long Version

I started in a small town, with a 2004 graduating class of 147, with a QPA of 3.86 in the top 12% of my graduating class. And from this background, I leapfrogged to "the city" when I went to the University of Pittsburgh for my undergraduate career.

Now, after graduating in April 2008 with a QPA of 3.25 in Computer Science, I've been working as a software engineer with a knowledge dissemination company called Wellspring, maintaining existing code and designing new features. As an employee, my day ranges from project micromanagement and collaboration to meetings and teleconferences with clients; it's an exciting and dynamic schedule that always keeps something new on the horizons.

What Dreams Have Come

College has been a massive growth experience for me. In four years, I have developed a blossoming network of friends encompassing three of Pitt's campuses and several surrounding universities. During these four years, it's been my passion to find some of the best, safest places to eat and have a great time. For the 19 of us who stuck it out, our weekly watering hole was Fuel n Fuddle for their half-price schedule. (As a college student, you take what you can get.)

What Lies Ahead

Ever since I've been working in the South Side of Pittsburgh, living on Mt. Washington, the venues have changed quite a lot. Along with the absence of drunken idiocy at 4AM on a Wednesday morning is the ability to visit three excellent 1AM dining venues that Oakland offered. But, fear not, I have strived through adversity and have won! Sampling the goods of Fat Heads good ol' American burgers and fries, Casey's bar and grill, and the (in)famous Bar-11, my palate for night life has been a healthy drive to keep exploring my city and enjoy myself with my coworkers.
